Leopard’s Chase is a Tim Cate masterpiece. Named “Top 10 Best New Public Courses in America for 2007”, Leopard’s Chase presents golfers with an elite experience that takes players through the beautiful, natural surroundings of the Southeast North Carolina region. Featuring magnificently manicured L-93 bentgrass greens and graced with scenic landscapes, that include native grasses and preserved wetlands, creating a series of breathtaking scenery. As the course makes its way through 220 acres of this wonderous landscape it culminates with an amazing finish at the 18th hole. This par 4 finishing hole has an elevated green that is fronted by a cascading waterfall that flows down a wall of coquina boulders. It is truly a sight to see.
Tiger’s Eye is a shot-makers course to be sure. Carved into the dense hardwood forest that surrounds the golf course makes for a solid test of skill and reminds golfers that they are playing a Carolinas Lowcountry course. More than 35,000 tons of coquina boulders line bulkheads all around the layout. The course boasts large TifEagle greens installed in 2017 and well-manicured TiftSport Bermuda fairways. Tiger’s Eye is listed on Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Public Golf Courses in America”.
Panther’s Run features rolling, wooded land complete with running brooks and cool ponds. Water comes into play all around the course, testing the golfer’s ability to avoid the various water hazards. Lion’s Paw is a Willard Byrd design that is considered by many as one of his best. From the first hole, golfers will encounter breathtaking scenery that includes beautiful creek valley and wetlands that run all along the course. Water comes into play on 15 of the 18 holes. Oyster shells line the water features which makes for unique and wonderful vistas across the golf course. Sugar white sand bunkers surround the putting surfaces that feature MiniVerde greens. Lion’s Paw has earned 3 1/2 stars from Golf Digest’s prestigious “Places to Play” rankings.
