Lockwood Folly Country Club is a picturesque golf course located adjacent to the Lockwood Folly River and backs up against the Intracoastal Waterway. This setting provides some of the best scenery in all of the Carolinas. The Atlantic Ocean is in view from the back porch of the clubhouse. There is not another golf course along the Grand Strand that provides the superb views that Lockwood Folly can offer to its guests.
The par 72 Willard Byrd designed links-style course measures 6836 yards from the back tees with a rating of 73.9 and slope of 140. That being said there are 5 additional sets of tees for golfers to choose from to allow players of all ages and ability levels to enjoy this beautiful golf course. The fairways are bordered by huge oak trees and tall Carolina pines. The course meanders its way through the forest as well as around and through salt marshes and creeks, providing a distinct challenge for golfers on each hole. The way the natural surroundings were used to shape the character of this layout was a work of art by Mr. Byrd.
The clubhouse is fantastic in its own right. In addition to the golf shop and the bar and grill area for the golfers to grab some food and drink before and after the round, Lockwood boasts a full-service waterfront dining room experience at the Oak and Anchor Restaurant. Complete with spectacular waterway views the food and beverage staff prepare wonderful meals for members and guests alike to enjoy. They have the ability to host any kind of luncheon or dinner event as well. It as truly a great amenity that Lockwood has to offer.
Memberships are available at Lockwood Folly. The are several different membership opportunities including options for single golfers, senior golfers, and families. There are even limited round memberships available to those that need a more flexible membership option.
