J. Baldwin has spent his life serving the community he loves. Born and raised in North Myrtle Beach, he’s been part of the city’s growth for decades — as a small-business owner, a family man, and a member of City Council since 2004. Today, as Mayor Pro Tem, Jay is ready to take the next step — to lead North Myrtle Beach into its next chapter.
“This community made me who I am,” Baldwin says. “Now it’s my turn to make sure we keep it strong, safe, and thriving for generations to come.”
J.’s campaign for Mayor focuses on three clear priorities that matter most to residents:
1. Safety and Support for First Responders
Ensuring our police, fire, and emergency services have the tools, technology, and manpower to protect our homes, businesses, and families.
2. Infrastructure and Smart Growth
Reducing congestion, addressing flooding, and planning growth that fits our city — not overwhelms it. Jay believes progress should never come at the cost of our coastal charm or our quality of life.
3. Transparency and Accountability
J. is known for being accessible — he’s always made his personal phone number public so residents can reach him directly. As Mayor, he’ll continue that tradition of open communication and honest leadership.
North Myrtle Beach deserves a Mayor who listens, leads, and lives the same values we all share. J. Baldwin has been doing that for over 20 years — and he’s ready to keep building a safer, stronger, and more connected community.
